Živa was born in Philadelphia, then left for Serbia, and returned to Bucks County. He was later graduated from Central High School, and soon earned his second Bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University. While a freelance artist, he journeyed to places such as Belgrade, Helsinki, and Los Angeles. He most recently earned his first Master's degree in Library and Information Science, with a focus on Information Technology, from the University of Pittsburgh.
